After being away for a week, I was just eager to come home. Though Madison is not nearly as exciting or stimulating as New York City, it is home and there is a definite comfort factor coming back to a place where your walking pace is a leisurely stroll, and it's okay to smile, and when you say "thank you" people respond with "you're welcome".

The great thing about going somewhere new, is seeing and experiencing new things. I was fortunate enough to be able to walk around the city from showroom appointment to appointment so that I could use my new toy (i-phone) and snap a few photos of things that inspired me. This one below is from ABC carpet and home in Union Square. If you are ever in the area, you should stop by. The store is just oozing metal stimulation. This particular window totally struck my fancy. Though this photo can't do it justice, the background is collaged with black and white snapshots of people, while the peace sign was left as white space. There is a single light bulb suspended from the ceiling with the word "HOPE" taped out with electrical tape.
If I didn't reside with Peter, I might consider throwing something like this up on my wall (but maybe with black and white pics of all my friends and family).
